Rhode Races: Jamestown

The Jamestown Rhode Race will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023. The event is set on picturesque Conanicut Island and looks out over Narragansett Bay and the Newport Pell Bridge, the largest suspension bridge in New England. The course features vivid landscapes, winding roads, historic Watson Farm, and the village of Jamestown with its small shops and quaint restaurants. The Half Marathon will start at 7 am.

Rhode Races: Narragansett

The 9th Annual Ocean State Rhode Races in Narragansett, RI will be held on Sunday, October 29, 2023. Race weekend features a Marathon, Half Marathon, and 5k Race.

The Marathon will start at 7:30 am, the Half Marathon will start at 8:00 AM, and the 5k at 8:15 am, all on Sunday.

This genuine Rhode Island marathon will showcase what is great about the Ocean State.  Not only does the course feature iconic Rhode Island beauty, our post-race festival will include an authentic Rhode Island experience at the Narragansett Town Beach.

ChiRunning Half Day Workshop – Providence, RI

Learn to run easier and injury-free!

ChiRunning combines movement principles from Thai Chi with the sport of running, allowing you to run more efficiently, and with less impact. I will guide you through many exercises and drills designed to leave you with a clear sense of what the Chi Running technique feels like in your body. We will not be doing lots of running (contrary to what you might imagine), so no matter what condition you are in, have no fear. We will spend time alternating between demonstrations, fun exercises and technique drills. The nature of the day will be relaxed, full and inspiring.

-Cooperating with Opposing Forces
-Chi Running versus Power Running
-Introduction to the Chi Running Form
-Effortlessly Increase Your Stride Length
-Finding Flow with Ideal Cadence

-Pre-run Body Looseners, Post-run Stretches
-Innovative technique drills
-How to conserve energy at any speed

Notes to participants: We will have a combo of indoor and outdoor time, so please bring appropriate clothing (layers). Feel free to bring water and/or a snack.

Cancellation Policy:
Cancel 14 days before the workshop and you will be refunded your registration payment minus a $35 processing fee. If you cancel within 14 days of the workshop, you will receive a 50% refund. If you cancel within two days of the workshop you forfeit your full payment. The Instructor reserves the right to cancel/reschedule the workshop, in which case you will receive a full refund.

Rhode Races: Bristol

The Bristol Independence Rhode Race will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023. In partnership with the Bristol Fourth of July Committee, the half marathon will follow the beautiful downtown streets of America’s quintessential community when it is decked out in its finest – during the Oldest 4th of July Celebration in America. The course includes incredible historic homes, a town common and the America’s Cup Museum before heading out along the scenic coastline, through Roger Williams University and finishing along the water at Independence Park.

***New in 2023 – a Two Person Relay has been added to this event.  Register as a team, with the first leg being 7.5 miles, an exchange at Roger Williams University, and a second leg completing the 5.6 mile distance. All Male, All Female or Co-Ed teams are offered.

Rhode Races: Newport Packet Pick Up

Join us in the City-by-the-Sea for this stunning marathon, half marathon and 5k. Newport Rhode Races partners with the upcoming Annual Newport Daffodil Days Festival to give you a true Spring Newport Experience. Our courses will pass along many of the over 1,200,000 starting to bloom around the City by the Sea. (We’ll call it Dash through the Daffodils!)

The Marathon will start at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, April 15, 2023 at Easton’s Beach in Newport, RI. The Half Marathon will start at 8:00 a.m. from the same location. The 5k will follow at 8:30 am – all from the same beautiful seaside start.

Winter Warrior Challenge

Winter is here and its time to see who amongst us are Winter Warriors.

Winter is here and its time to see who amongst us are Winter Warriors. Log your run or walk of at least a mile every day we'll keep track of who the true Winter Warriors are. 

We'll be keeping track of who's in and who's out. Once you miss a day you'll be out of the competition. Get up and run every day during the month of February. No exceptions. 

You can log a run until 10AM the following day. For example, you have until 10AM on February 2nd to log your February 1st run. If you miss the 10AM deadline, you're out of the challenge! 

Once 10AM the following day hits, if you don't have a run logged, you're out. Please pay very close attention to this as we will not be making exceptions to get people back in to the competition. 

We'll have prizes for the top three warriors who compete in this event. Minimum of 1 mile required per day. Please exercise caution and do not injure yourself.

We'll raffle off three prizes for those who complete the month of running.
