Calling all beginners!  Have you recently thought about training for a 5k? Do you have no idea where to start?  We can help! We've put together a 14 week training plan to get you prepared to race the Monster Dash 5k in October! The training plan begins shortly after the info session and has been put together by our on staff USATF certified coach Eric Lonergan.

Join us for a fantastic workout in our New Balance Community Room. This workout/clinic focuses on improving core strength and flexibility with running specific strengthening exercises and stretching. Matt from Fitness Together will be presenting the clinic, it will run for an hour and is completely free. Matthew has nine years of experience in the fitness industry and is certified by the American Council on Exercise.

WHAT IS GLOBAL RUNNING DAY?

Global Running Day is a worldwide celebration of running that encourages everyone to get moving. It doesn’t matter how fast you run or how far you go—what’s important is that you take part, and how you do it is up to you. Run a lap around your block, take your dog for a long walk, or call your friends for a pick-up game in the park. The important thing is that you have fun being active—and you inspire others to join you.

Join November Project Providence, Lululemon Rhode Island Run Club, and Rhode Runner Running Club at Rhode Runner on Wednesday, June 5, at 6pm for an awesome run (all paces welcome!) led by Rhode Runner Pacers and November Project leaders Holly Rose Bubier and Steven Blais!

Then I invite you to to this free introduction ChiRunning! This technique is a gentle but powerful approach that makes getting fit, safe, easy, and fun. It’s great for all levels of fitness and experience, and those who want to start a fitness program, lose weight, or come back from an injury stronger than ever. The creator, Danny Dreyer, has blended the movement principles from the ancient martial art, T’ai Chi, with the active sports of running and walking. This blend creates a more mindful, centered and balanced approach to fitness.

You don't need to be in full running gear, but I recommend wearing sneakers if you want to participate in the drills.

Crosstraining. We all talk about doing it. So stop talking and lets go. Join Rhode Runner and CycleBar on December 8th when we Run.Cycle.Run our way to better health. It starts at Rhode Runner with a Dynamic warmup and a 1 mile jog down to CycleBar Providence. Then we hop on our bikes and put in some serious work for 30 minutes. We'll finish up with a nice easy 1 mile run back to Rhode Runner. Crosstraining. Done.
